Important prerequisite: The following steps should be executed inside the Azure AD application which is created according to the instructions from the Set Up of the Azure AD Application

Request Graph API Application Permissions
- Go to API permissions
- Add a permission
- Choose Microsoft Graph and then Application Permissions
- Request permissions for the following resources:
- Sites.Read.All

Request the SharePoint API Application Permissions:
- Go to API permissions
- Add a permission
- Choose SharePoint, then Application Permissions
- Request permissions for the following resource(s):
- User.Read.All
- Sites.Read.All

Grant admin consent
- If the application is registered with the admin account, you can grant the consent straight away
- Alternatively: The admin needs to log in with his account and then go to all App-Registrations and accept the permissions requested by the amberSearch application

Upload certificate
- Go to the "Certificates & Secrets" Page
- Go to Tab "Certificates"
- Upload the certificate file
selfsigncert.crt
provided by the amberSearch Team in Azure AD - Provide the Thumbprint of the Certificate via the form below. If the form does not load, you can also access it here.
Final checks
After the steps above were executed, the API permissions site should look like the following:
The Graph API application permission(s) were requested and admin consent was granted
The SharePoint application permission(s) were requested and admin consent was granted
The certificate was uploaded and the thumbprint was provided to the amberSearch Team
